MY BUSINESS CASUAL
When business meets fashion.

I recently attended a meeting where I was addressed as nonchalant. I wasn’t quite sure whether that meant my style, attitude or both? I decided to reflect on the true social meaning of this commonly used fashion expression. We read on glossy magazines how celebrities and tastemakers are referred as having an “elegant yet nonchalant” sense of style, assuming their attires embrace a hybrid between minimalist and utilitarian styles. But, what are people really thinking when they describe an individual as “nonchalant”? Does this mean the person is overly confident, rather careless or too relaxed? When is it appropriate to evoke this attribute and when can it be taken negatively? More so, is this state-of-being considered undesirable in a professional environment?
I wonder if LV was inspired by this piece when making the SS13 collection.

Wishful thinking…
I have been following this brand for the past couple of months, ever since Lust for Life raved about her new bikini. I have to say I am blown away by the designs, which embrace an 90’s vibe with a burst of sensuality. The cuts remind me of the Brazilian bikinis I can only find at home (known for their skimpy bottoms), and I a love the layering and unexpected zippers placed in “sensitive” areas of the body. The brand just hit Nasty Gal, so hurry up and order, because I am positive all the stock will be gone by the summer comes around!

With Spring around the corner I could not help but think of my beauty needs once the weather starts warming up. My style changes drastically, as I tend to incorporate bohemian pieces in my wardrobe and float into a neutral color scheme. I find it that rosy and shimmery tones complement that flirty fresh look.

OXFORD PRESS
I recently discovered Vaunte.com, an online market predominantly for  vintage and used luxury items. Aside from the vast selection of Chanel collectable jewelry, I was most allured by the oxford collection. Channeling the perfect union of masculine and feminine, the designs included contemporary approaches like those of Celine and more conservative ones like those of YSL. My favorites have sold out, but this is just the beginning of an extensive wish list, I hope to realize soon!
